Wrote some of my book:
Scene: Skaarj team base.
Captain Cutloose followed by Duke Robear and his team, stealth fully sneak into the army base. Their numbers were low, on both teams, and the stakes were high. Cutloose knew if they defeated the Skaarj, it might mean the end of the war, and he would be able to see Kitrina again. Cutloose’s snipers easily picked off the guards protecting the base and they moved in. there were only 9 on the team and they were still weary from battle. Killing all resistance, they quickly located general Natak and the rest of his troops at the center of the base. Their total number had dwindled down to five, but Cutloose knew that they were evenly matched. He recognized the ugly faces of general Natak, Gruks’nor Ak’b, and Daysert Mo’th. He knew that they were the toughest ones to beat; all three had cybernetic implants, except Natak. But he was the worst of all, stories went around the troops that his left hand was lost in a fight many years ago, and been replaced with a bone crushing mechanized one. Cutloose had seen it in action too, not wasting any time, he took out the nail out side the door he knew as Shahada Kre’, and Sgt. Bates, a gutsy soldier, kicked the door open. With no warning, bullets rained out of the room with explosive force. The room past the door was very spacious and a table at both ends was turned on its side when they burst in. the nine members on team rage took sanctuary behind one of the tables and they began firing at the four remaining Skaarj.
With one well-placed shot, Sgt. Bates took out the first Skaarj, a Shinaclow Gr’us as they later found out. But his victory wasn’t long, for in no time at all Bates himself was gone. He and everyone else were gone a short time later, all except Cutloose and Robear. Shots rained as they dodged their way closer and closer to get a better shot and finally bring down the Skaarj for the last time. Duke Robear becoming impatient fired off a round and luckily took out the Gruks’nor and Daysert , but Natak dodged every shot with nimble quickness. Suddenly Natak was right beside and Robear started to turn away, but it was too late. Natak had him in his mechanized left hand; sparks flew from Robear’s Space Marine suit as the life was squeezed from him. Cutloose thinking quickly shot a round from his enforcer that made Natak look twice. He then dove for cover from Cutloose’s fire, dropping Robear like a limp piece of meat. Duke Robear lay on the hard metal floor; Cutloose did not know whether he was still alive. Suddenly shots fired, Cutloose snapped back to reality as Natak used Robear’s own minigun on him. But Cutloose was smart, he knew that it only had a few number of bullets left. Soon enough it was only he and Natak, hand to hand. Cutloose with a last ditch effort ran at Natak, but the nimble Skaarj grabbed him by the neck. Natak, in a growling voice, asked Cutloose: ”What will you do now, human?” Cutloose was enraged by the word, but also surprised that he knew English, chokingly yelled “THIS!”
A single shot fired, Natak went limp and fell to the ground, a gapping hole in his head. Cutloose had won, and the Skaarj had lost the war. But it was a swallow victory; he had lost all his men, except Robear. He ran to him and turned him over. The space marine lay, barely breathing, his helmet cracked, showing his true face. Until now no one had seen it, a human. Cutloose propped him up against the wall and sat down next to him, waiting for a team to pick them up.
